July 23: In The Wall Street Journal’s CIO Journal blog, Citi strategic adviser Irving Wladawsky-Berger highlighted a USAID-Citi partnership designed to accelerate the adoption of mobile money services in developing countries. Wladawsky-Berger discusses the role chief information officers can play in the transition to mobile money, saying, “The digital technology revolution that has been transforming just about every aspect of life around us … is now poised to usher the concept of mobile digital money to every corner of the world.”

July 27: In an interview with GlobalPost, USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah went in depth about USAID’s efforts to fight HIV/AIDS worldwide. Shah discussed the development of a plan to meet Secretary Clinton’s call for an AIDS-free generation, the challenges of creating demand for male circumcision services, and the need to integrate multiple concepts to create a clear single goal for global health, among other topics.
